What is a lash lift?
A lash lift is basically a perm for your eyelashes. A solution is applied that semi-permanently curls the lashes up, similar to the effect of a lash curler—but with way more staying power.
How does it work?
The technician applies a silicone mold or shield onto the eyelid using a non-toxic glue. This is the only thing that touches the skin. With the silicone mold on the eyelid, the technician then curls the lashes using the glue over the mold, which is curved upward and outward to create a curl. Once each and every lash is applied onto the mold they are separated individually so you get a nice curl on the lashes. The perm solution is then applied and sits on the root of the eyelashes from 10 to 15 minutes. Then a setting solution is applied to harden the hair so the shape is set in place. Finally the lashes are tinted and a keratin nourishing solution is applied to promote lash growth.
The service lasts approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. During this time, feel free to take a nap, listen to music, or chat with your technician!
How long does the lift last?
Typically, a lash lift will last six to eight weeks, about the same amount of time as the lash growth cycle.
What do I need to know before my appointment?
If you wear glasses or contacts, make sure you wear glasses to your appointment and do not have contacts in.
Come to the appointment without wearing any eye makeup.
If you are allergic to vegetable dyes, tint cannot be applied to eyelashes.
Lash Lift Aftercare
Keep your eyes dry and avoid contact with water, steam and sweat for first 24 hours.
Avoid touching or sleeping on eyelashes for first 24 hours.
Mascara can be used after 24 hrs. Avoid waterproof mascara.
Remove mascara and other eye makeup daily.
Do not use an eyelash curler once lashes are lifted.
Schedule a lash lift every 6 or so weeks, or once eyelashes are no longer curled.
